FUPOL
The project “Intelligent Tools for Policy Design” is financed by the European Union, within the FP7 Program, and aims to provide a completely new approach to the traditional policies. Through innovative methods, using the social networks and surveys, the FUPOL project will contribute towards improving the way politicians and administration communicate with the citizens.
The result of the project is developing tools based on information technology, i.e., software that will enable a new method of communication between politicians, citizens and the business sector.
The software enables automatic collection, analysis and interpretation of the opinions provided by the citizens, as well as providing a simulation of the effects of adopting laws and policies and the possibility of assisting the authorities in the decision-making process.
Using these tools, the citizens of the City of Skopje will be able to participate directly in the process of creating the city policies, using the social networks to express their judgments and opinions on the proposed topics and projects. Additionally, the users will be able to comment on the given topics on the official Facebook, Twitter and Blogspot accounts of the City of Skopje, where all the topics will be posted.
All the received comments, opinions and judgments will be ordered systematically and processed by the special software, and will be included in the policy-creating process of the City of Skopje.
