Competencies

Pursuant to Article 11 of the Decision on the Organization, Scope and Manner of Performing the Tasks of the Administration of the City of Skopje (“Official Gazette of the City of Skopje” No. 12/2005) Communal Affairs Department

performs works in the field of water supply and drainage of urban waste water;
waste management;
maintenance and use of parks, park-forests, sports and recreational zones and other protected areas;
maintenance of greenery on public and traffic areas;
natural gas and heat supply;
categorization and naming of city suburbs, streets, bridges squares and other infrastructure facilities;
maintenance of cemeteries;
fumigation and eradication of stray animals;
construction, use and maintenance of wholesale markets and markets for the sale of motor vehicles on the territory of the City of Skopje and other utilities established by this Decision;
coordinates its work with other departments within the city administration and performs other tasks entrusted to it.
