Local Economic Development Department

Pursuant to Article 9 of the Decision on the Organization, Scope and Manner of Performing the Tasks of the Administration of the City of Skopje (“Official Gazette of the City of Skopje” No. 12/2005) Local Economic Development Department:

1. performs the tasks of local economic development planning;
2. proposes development and structural priorities at the level of the City of Skopje;
3. proposes measures and activities to guide local economic policy and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship;
4. takes care of the development and fulfillment of the legal obligations under the jurisdiction of the City of Skopje in the field of handicrafts, catering, tourism and trade;
5. proposes measures for the development and promotion of alternative and cultural tourism;
6. proposes measures to improve the conditions of stay of tourists in the City of Skopje and tourist propaganda information;
7. coordinates its work with other departments within the city administration and performs other tasks entrusted to it.
