Legal Affairs Department

Pursuant to Article 8 of the Decision on the Organization, Scope and Manner of Performing the Tasks of the Administration of the City of Skopje (“Official Gazette of the City of Skopje” No. 12/2005, 15/07 and 6/08) Legal Affairs Department:

1. follows the laws and other regulations in the field of local self-government;
2. prepares the regulations and acts under the competence of the Council and the Mayor of the City of Skopje;
3. gives opinion on the compliance of regulations and acts with laws and other regulations;
4. represent the City of Skopje in litigation before the competent courts and other competent authorities;
5. conducts the procedure for expropriation of real estate for the purpose of realization of works of public interest;
6. prepares and organizes the sessions of the City Council of Skopje and its committees and the sessions of the Coordination Body of Mayors;
7. coordinates its work with other departments within the city administration and performs other tasks entrusted to it.
